Buying a new property can be stressful whether you are moving streets, towns or countries. There's little point in pretending otherwise. But something that remains true no matter which heading your move comes under, is that if you get the right advice from the people in the know then you stand a far greater chance of buying the best property for you, and in the right location. For many people buying a house in a foreign country is a scary prospect, one full of complications, including laws and legislation which are different from our own country, not to mention the language barrier. But there are lots of success stories. I was pleased to stumble across an article the other day in which a couple close to retiring had looked into buying property in North Cyprus, Holland, Spain and Crete. In the end they decided upon Northern Cyprus. They based their decision on several factors; Holland's climate is not vastly different from England's and the cost of living was also very similar, France has warmer Summers, but the Winter remains pretty cold, and though the weather gets better as you move further South, so do the house prices. Spain and Crete were both strong contenders but upon visiting North Cyprus the couple simply fell in love and they knew their decision was made.
This is often the case when people come over here to buy a house. I always feel a twinge of pride when we first meet a new prospective buyer because the reaction we tend to encounter is one of surprise and awe at the beauty of this island. And of course I get the greatest reward by being able to help people find their dream home.
